Puppy Love

Our family welcomed a new member last weekend: a 12 week old pug puppy named Nacho. He's already won us over and I couldn't resist sharing a photo. We're doing great so far, but if you have any pug or puppy tips I'm all ears!

Also, if you're a fellow dog lover, take a look at this adorable vintage scottie dog salt + pepper set:

Have a great day.

Blue and White Ginger Jars

New in the shop: three vintage Chinese blue & white lidded ginger jars. Each features a beautiful floral rice motif with the Chinese symbol for happiness on both the front, back, and lid. They are being sold separately as each is unique with subtle variations in size and detail.

Originally used to store spices, Chinese ginger jars became popular as decorative elements when exported to the West during the 19th century. They look phenomenal just about anywhere:

And work wonderfully as vases too:

Enjoy a little extra blue & white love:

More is more, no?

Have a beautiful day.

English Roll Arm Sofas

Today I thought I'd break from the usual and share a recent furniture find. I have always loved the look of an English roll arm sofa and last week I was thrilled to come across an identical pair of in need of a good home. Their owner had just sold her house and needed to move them fast, so I got them for a song. Here's one of them:

This set was made by Hickory Chair which is a great source if you're looking for an English roll arm sofa. They're incredibly comfortable, and I love their tight backs and low arms, the wood + brass casters along the front, and all the nailhead detail. They should last for a good long time and I'll be dreaming up upholstery options for a while. Some inspiration...

Pink a la Ann Mashburn:
(As in the second shot, my set will face each other in front of the fireplace.)

Gray a la Ashley Putnam:

Yellow a la Jenna Lyons:

Wedgewood blue a la Sofia Coppola:

I love the idea of going with a stripe too... time will tell!
