Julie from Shelter Interior Design is a dear friend I've known for over five years now. Of all places, we met at our childbirth preparation classes when we were each expecting our first child (both boys) and later went on to have our second kids (both girls) on the same day at the same hospital (crazy, right?). At the time Julie had recently started her own design firm and I was still working at the MFA, and we bonded right away over a shared love of interiors and art. Of course not only is Julie a beautiful person and fabulous friend, she's a very talented designer and a post on her work is long overdo.
