WHAT IS GOOD, WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL, WHAT IS USEFUL, WHAT IS LASTING.

Taking A Break (for baby!)

A little news to share today: Estate Eclectic will be "on vacation" for a bit as we welcome our new baby girl next week. But don't fret! I'll be hunting for new vintage finds and preparing to reopen the shop and share inspiring design ideas in the spring. Please join us on Facebook for updates or sign-up for our mailing list (see blog "welcome" section) to receive an e-mail when we're back in business.

PS: Isn't this pretty? It's a close-up of a 1960s Vera Neumann scarf that I had framed to hang above the dresser/changing table in the nursery. Vera's designs are beautiful and I fell for the painterly style and perfect mix of pinks on this piece!

The Drama of Red

The late American fashion designer, Bill Blass, called the color red "the ultimate cure for sadness."
There's no doubt a bright red dress or accessory is an instant pick-me-up, and the same holds true
for interiors. Whether it's lacquered walls in bright Chinese red or just a touch of scarlet
in an otherwise muted space, a little red goes a long way!
